Paul Zorn

Senior Consultant

 

Paul Zorn - Eight years of Taft-Hartley Welfare Fund experience. His major areas of expertise include financial projections, statistical modeling, fund liabilities, retiree subsidies, retiree funding programs, benefit plan redesign and associated cost reductions, Medicare Part D refunds and SOP 92-6 retiree benefit obligations.

Mr. Zorn has been working in both the pension and health areas, giving him the enhanced understanding of how to integrate the health and welfare plus pension benefits.

His degree was in Mathematics with a minor in Physics from Northern Kentucky University.

 

 

John Schalk

Eight years of Taft-Hartley Welfare Fund experience. His major areas of expertise include financial projections, benefit plan design, prescription drug (PBM) analysis and plan design, prescription drug rebates, retiree subsidies, alternative eligibility rules and life insurance arrangements.

His degree was in Mathematics from Southern Illinois University.

 

 

Paul Hawkins

Twenty three years of Taft-Hartley Welfare Fund experience. His major areas of expertise include financial projections, benefit revisions, wellness programs, utilization review programs, dental plan design, analysis of Preferred Provider Programs (PPOs), HMOs and other managed care programs.

His undergraduate degree was in economics at North Park College and has studied economics and business on the graduate level.

He has earned the professional designation of Chartered Life Underwriter and Fellow, Life Management Institute.

 

 

Jeff Smaha

Senior Consultant

 

Twenty eight years of Taft-Hartley Welfare Fund experience. His major areas of expertise include financial projections, fund liabilities, claim analysis, managed care programs, wellness programs, retiree subsidies, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plan designs, eligibility alternative Life and Stop-loss insurance arrangements and benefit plan redesign.

His degree was in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska.
